Focus on collecting and making the stories of female heroes “real”

Eastern Guangdong is a red land with a glorious revolutionary history. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, countless revolutionary predecessors succeeded each other, leaving a red mark that can be praised and praised. Here, many women have appeared who contributed their efforts and even gave their lives to China’s revolution and liberation work, but many of their deeds are buried in the dust of history.

In order for these women to be recognized for their expenditure and contribution during those white Ethiopians Sugardaddy years To pass down the heroic spirit from generation to generation, teachers and students from the School of Liberal Arts of Shantou University decided to form a “Trace” research team to collect, excavate, and organize their stories or sites.

Team members know that only by conducting in-depth frontline research and interviews can they touch and feel the conditions surrounding the lives of the female heroes at that time, and write and tell red stories more vividly and truly Well, spread the red spirit to the people. They were divided into groups and studied the research plans and interview outlines of each group many times, and finally formed an overall work plan of nearly 20,000 words. Everywhere they went, the members conducted down-to-earth explorations, inspected records on the spot, listened to instructors’ systematic explanations, conducted questionnaire surveys and interviews, and reviewed and collected a large amount of information through the Eastern Guangdong Regional Archives Bureau, museums, cultural centers, etc. historical data.

“It is difficult to collect information on female heroes and martyrs, and the written materials found are relatively microscopic discussions. So we went to the old revolutionary areasEthiopians Sugardaddy and the memorial hall distributed questionnaires, randomly interviewed tourists and instructors; used the searched addresses to find the former residence of the female heroes, interviewed the elderly in the village, and asked someone to contact them It is indeed a very difficult process to connect the clues to their descendants bit by bit.” Liao Chenwei, a 2019 student specializing in Chinese language and literature, is an important participant in the project and has deep feelings about the collection of data.

The long distance to the survey site, limited survey time, and the closure of the revolutionary old residence caused many difficulties to the team’s field survey. However, in line with the principle of respecting history, everyone Always keep collecting and organizing in a down-to-earth manner, and truly record.

Written with emotion, let the story of female heroes “stand up”

On the basis of mastering sufficient historical data, the team began to write the story of female heroes. “We have now completed 18 story drafts of female heroes from eastern Guangdong, with nearly 50,000 words!” This is something that every team member is proud of. So far, they have collected more than 37,000 words of performance materials about female heroes in eastern Guangdong. The total length of interview audio from field research has reached 1,026 minutes, and they have written 18 original story drafts of nearly 50,000 words.

The project team strives to discover the stories in the materials, the details in the stories, and the energy in the details, and write in-depth stories with emotion and warmth. Ji Zehui, a 2020 graduate student specializing in contemporary literature, was responsible for researching and writing the story of the female hero Feng Keng. She was deeply moved by Feng Keng’s red spirit and personality charm: “Although Feng Keng has long been separated from us by time and space, as the first She is one of the first batch of female revolutionaries in ancient China. Her revolutionary path implies the process of coordinating the complex relationships between revolution and liberation, revolution and women. Through the mirror of history, I feel the process of ‘writing’ her. Revolutionary passion, women’s tenacity, and organizational power”

In addition to Feng Keng, Chaozhou “Liu Hulan” Huang Qiufu, Hong Yin, known as the “great husband among women”, and unyielding communism. Soldier Cai Suping and the Pink Gun Team, one of the earliest women’s armed forces led by the Communist Party of China, all left a deep impression on the team members. “They are all flesh and blood people, some are in their prime, some still have husbands and children to worry about, but living in that era, they have iron-clad ideals and beliefs, and they sacrifice their lives without hesitation. In exchange for the happiness of all people in the world, they are so noble and pure,” Ji Zehui said.

After drafting the story of the heroes, the team put a lot of thought into spreading the story. Everyone believes that in order to better spread the deeds of female heroes in eastern Guangdong, we must first tell the story of female heroes in an authentic way. They went to primary and secondary schools and communities to hold story-distribution gatherings, where they told the stories of the female heroes of eastern Guangdong in an emotional and vivid way, and combined them with pictures, recordings, etc. to give the listeners an immersive experience.

Cai Yan, a 2019 student who specializes in Chinese language and literature, is a member of the publicity team. She recalled that when she told the story of Lai Yuechan, the captain of the pink gun team, in a middle school, she still sighed: “I During the lecture, we cried several times. The middle school students present held their breaths and had tears in their eyes. We seemed to have traveled back to that war-torn era and felt the heroine Lai Yuechan’s pride and sacrifice for justice. After the lecture, the students. We all say that such heroic stories are ‘unfortunate’ and we still want to hear them!”

Team members also combined practical needs and skills to take the image of female heroes from eastern Guangdong to a new level! Concrete, enriched and flat. The team focuses on creating red dramas, scripts, etc., and tries to combine local intangible cultural heritage such as clay sculptures and tide embroidery in eastern Guangdong to create red cultural and creative products with local characteristics, so that everyone can experience the life of female heroes more vividly.

Through our efforts, we will continue to discover more deeds of female heroes and tell them Ethiopia Sugar with heart and soulEthiopia Sugar Daddy’s story contributes to enriching red culture, activating red resources, and inheriting red spirit!” (Reporter from China Education News – China Education News Network Gao Yizhe (correspondent Wu Jingfan)
